Licking County Bike Trails
Licking County bike trails are among the most beautiful in the country. Popular for walking, roller-skating and biking as well, the paved surfaces are free of difficult inclines.

The Blackhand Gorge bike trail journeys 4.2 miles through a geological area along the scenic Licking River. The trail is located nine miles east of Newark and just south of Rt. 146. It runs from Toboso to Claylick. The 14.5 mile bike trail from Newark to Johnstown is an excellent recreational route. It begins in Newark on Cherry Valley Road just north of West Main Street, just south of State Route 16, and travels through the villages of Granville and Alexandria.

New bike trails are currently under construction, and by the summer of 1996, there will be a total of 25.7 miles ready for use.
