PICKAWAY County - In 1810, under direction of the general assembly of Ohio, the county of Pickaway was formed from parts of Ross, Fairfield and Franklin counties. The three men assigned as commissioners were give the task to select a location for the county seat. After a thorough examination of all the possible locations the men selected the spot west of the Scioto River which is now the City of Circleville.

The area they chose was simply a truly unique location. It was built on a prehistoric site, like many

LICKING County - Newark Earthworks, home to the Great Circle Earthworks. The Hopewell people built the earthworks approximately 2000 years ago. Flint Ridge is an ancient Native American flint quarry. You also won't want to miss the historic Cranberry Bog located on Buckeye Lake which is symbolic of the effects that the glacier had on our area.
