PIKE County - Eager Inn. The Inn was built in 1797 at the crossing of Zane's Trace and the Buckeye Trail.? The Eager Inn is located at the junction of Pike Lake Road and Morgan's Fork Road.? The Inn was a stage coach stop for weary travelers along the trails and was a prominent stop for the underground railroad as well.

The three men assigned as commissioners were give the task to select a location for the county seat. After a thorough examination of all the possible locations the men selected the spot west of the Scioto River which is now the City of Circleville.
